About us
What is Mollie Music?
Mollie Music (Records & Publishing) is the trade name of Julia Jones.
Originally set up in 1986 to handle the publishing of Nic Jones and of The Halliard (Nic, Dave Moran and Nigel Paterson).
Julia is Nic Jones’s wife, and his former agent/ general factotum when he was on the road.
After many requests from Nic’s fans, in 1998 Julia brought out the first CD of live performances, In Search of Nic Jones, on the Mollie Music record label, which was produced by Dave Emery. The enterprise had Nic’s full permission and input. In 2001 the double CD Unearthed, produced by Ralph Jordan, appeared. Collaboration between Julia and Dave Moran over the years resulted in The Halliard: Broadside Songs CD and companion songbook being released in 2005, followed in 2006 by The Last Goodnight!, produced by John Bushby.
Mollie Music Mail Order is the retail outlet for the available works of Nic Jones on both the Mollie Music and Topic labels, and of The Halliard. Also available in the small catalogue are those CDs of former band colleagues (Pete Coe, Chris Coe and Tony Rose, who were, along with Nic, "Bandoggs"), and those of friends.
